When using a KafaTek SDRM or MC6 grinder, grinding coffee into a shaker cup can be a bit tricky. The cup is positioned directly under the spout, which unfortunately also places it right over the plunger plug, causing ground coffee to scatter everywhere. You might be tempted to pull the cup forward to avoid this mess, but that risks it tipping and falling. A Special Note For MC6 owners:
BTW, for those who received their MC6 grinders within the past month or so, the mats for the SDRM and MC6 grinders are identical. However, for those whose MC6s were delivered before the spring of 2026, the purge button is about 3mm closer to the power button, and I need to know which grinder you have.
If you would, please measure the distance from the edge of the ring that surrounds the power button to the top of the ring on the purge button. If it appears to be about 45mm, you have the first version of the grinder base. If it’s closer to 48mm, it’s the current version.
I’ve attached a photo showing my older MC6 and its spacing of about 45mm.
